Doll Makers: noun; artists, & collectors that share a love of dolls, mostly those that are handmade by themselves and others. Unable to pass a porcelain doll without pausing to study, admire, touch clothing & hair.
This is us - you and I, many with years of specialized training and skills. Most of our members are certified doll makers through the Doll Artisan Guild. Several have gone on to become Millie, Maggie, even Triple Crown winners through the Guild. No matter our expertise or background everyone is eager to share and learn from others. This is the true spirit of porcelain doll making! This is UDS!!
All are welcome to join us & share their doll passion as each of us have our own talents and heartfelt love for this amazing hobby. As we come together for 4 wonderful days each year, to create, share, & complete doll projects, enjoy food, have fun, make lots of memories and form new friendships!
Our fabulous trip to Snowbird Ski Resort found one bus full of women stranded on the roadside after the engine overheated climbing the steep mountainside roads. Never fear, Sherri is here! She had us laughing so much, it was hard to focus on the problem at hand.
Great opportunity to admire the steep, granite mountainside, rugged terrain, white pines galore, and it also gave passing motorists a great reason to stare at a group of women standing along the road, when Sherri hiked her pantleg with thumb in the air! Beautiful sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for our visit high in the Wasatch Mountain Range. Most rode the tram 7 miles up to Hidden Peak with a panoramic view at 11,000 feet above sea level. It was breathtaking, but overwhelming for our friends who live at sea level. We enjoyed lunch, relaxing in the gardens- some even catnapped a bit! Then headed back to the hotel to register and begin the Festival.
